What We Do
Do you ever feel stuck in the practice room? Maybe you're working on a specific passage or technique, and something, you're not sure what, is not working. Your playing isn't clean, relaxed, or consistent, but you don't know how to fix it. What do you do now? How do you find the solutions to improve that passage or technique and move on?
Welcome to Practice Notes.
Practice Notes is here to get you un-stuck. Practice Notes is an online initiative that provides free practice resources and solutions for specific techniques in the form of fun, interactive, and collaborative videos and social media posts.
At Practice Notes, practicing equals problem solving.
Practice Notes reaches beyond a musician’s access to music education to develop self-taught learners that use observational, analytical, and experimental skills in and beyond the practice room.
Practice Notes collaborates with both young musicians and professional musicians to create practice solutions for every level. Collaborators include world-famous musicians Colin Carr, Johannes Moser, and Daniel Phillips.
Videos address the common problems most musicians encounter with a specific technique and offer innovative solutions to solve those problems. Our collaborator will walk you through the best ways to practice a technique and explain why these practice processes work.
Most importantly, Practice Notes is a community. Everyone learns from each other in order to get better together. Practice Notes is a fun online initiative run by young musicians that allows anyone to share common problems and helpful solutions.
